Fatshark 101 kit fpv drone training system is specially designed for beginners to enter the FPV. The whole kit comes with a custom-designed ready to fly quadcopter, Fatshark Recon goggles and a professional-grade radio. Open the box, install the battery, it is ready to fly.
A big part of the new 101 kit focuses on simplicity and training. To get into FPV, itís now long longer required to buy multiple components from multiple vendors, source a special battery charger and read 12 manuals to bind everything together. Instead, itís easy to take the full kit out of the box, plug in the battery and immediately fly.
The Shark Radio plays a big part in the training. Rather than a complex system with a half dozen unused switches, the Shark Radio has only two switches for arming and mode selection. It works directly and cleanly with online simulators and is also small enough to take on the road.
As a pilotís skillset matures, the radio is also well-suited for advanced flight. The gimbals used on the Shark Radio are similar to those used by professional pilots around the world while the weight of the overall unit is robust enough to not feel like a toy.
Free Insurance and DRL simulator integration
Each new Fat Shark 101 kit comes with a unique code that will give pilots free insurance from the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and free access to the Drone Racing League Simulator.
AMA membership is a key component to the growth profile of any professional pilot. Through the AMA, pilots can get critical training, learn about upcoming events and get free insurance in case of any potential problems. Moreover, the AMA focuses on education and training, a key narrative behind the Fat Shark 101 system.
The same registration code used for AMA insurance will also generate a Steam code for free access to the Drone Racing League simulator.
Simply plug the code into the (to be announced) registration page to get the process started.
Fat Sharkís 101 kit is made to not only get new users into FPV but also shepherd them into later stages of advanced flight. To that end, each component is independently upgradeable:
The Recon box goggles work on 5.8 Ghz and can be upgraded to professional grade Dominator V3 or HD3 goggles.
Using the Fly Sky protocol, the Shark Radio can be replaced by any upgraded Fly Sky radio
Any quad using the Fly Sky protocol can replace the Shark Quad and will work directly with the Shark Radio and the Recon box goggles.
Most importantly, the kit is simple. Both the Recon goggles and the quadcopter can be recharged through USB and there are no complicated binding procedures, charging constraints or special licenses to acquire. Simply open the box, charge the batteries and fly.
